The Steel Bridge Competition:

The goal of the steel bridge competition is to design, fabricate and construct a steel bridge in a simulated terrain. The student competition attempts to optimize the bridge's performance in the categories of stiffness, aesthetics, efficiency and economy. The teams of students from each school are judged based on time to assemble the bridge, the amount of load the bridge can carry, and the amount the bridge deflects under a specified load.
